George J. Graham

PHILADELPHIA, N.Y.  —  George J. Graham, 83, of Ore Bed Road, died Monday, Dec. 20, at his home. 

Born Jan. 31, 1928, in Newark Valley, N.Y., the son of George N. and Gladys E. Thompson Graham, he attended school in LaFargeville. 

He married Joyce K. Graham on May 20, 1945, in Glen Park. She died July 21, 2008. 

Mr. Graham served in the Army in the 1940s as a military policeman and transported prisoners during the Nuremburg trials. He was honorably discharged. 

He was employed as a carpenter for Theresa Builders, Theresa, and Ador and Booth, Watertown. 

Survivors including four sons and three daughters-in-law, Wesley and Barb and Robert, all of Philadelphia, Ed and Bev, Theresa and Arnold and Gloria, Dekalb Junction; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Hazel Graham, Watertown, Joan and Terry Shelley, Lafargeville, Cathy Marcellus, Philadelphia and Lori and Bob Frisinia, Hammond; twenty grandchildren; thirty three great grand children; and five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Joan Babcock, Vestal, Pearl Payne, Alexandria Bay, Moya and Fran Gainer, Vestal, Rose Pavia, MI and Frances and Dwight Wright, Fla. 

A brother, Jim, died before him. 

A memorial service will be at held 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at Evangelical Lutheran Church of Orleans Four Corners.
